Slow cooked Sausage Slow cooked Sausages in Apple Gravy served with Creamy Mash

Prep Time: 15 - 20 mins

Cook Time: 40 - 45 mins


2 tbsp Olive Oil

8-12 Pork Sausage

1 Leek - washed and chopped

200g Smk Streaky Bacon Lardons

200ml Apple Juice

1 lrg Bramley Apple - peeled & chopped

200ml Chicken Stock


For the Mash;

1Kg Maris Piper

150g Butter

100ml Cream or Milk

1-2 tbsp Wholegrain Mustard (optional)


Heat oil in the pan, add the Sausage and fry for 2 - 3 mins then remove from pan. Add Bacon lardons, fry till crisp then remove from pan.

Add Leek and cook till soft, add Sausage & Bacon back in, cover with Juice, Apple and Stock. Put a tight fitting lid on and simmer for 35 - 40 mins.


For the Mash;

Peel and chop the Potatoes & cook till soft. Mash and then add the Butter, Cream and season to taste. (Add Mustard if using)

Serve along side the Sausage Casserole.
