Young Butcher Of The Year Competition 4th July 2013

After Ben did so well with his apprenticeship he was asked to enter the young butcher of the year competition. Ben took this challenge on and on Tuesday he went to the Meatup show at the NEC in Birmingham. Ben came away with a second place finish in the ready to eat category. To get this Ben had a leg of lamb, a knuckle of beef and 45 minutes to create and display as many cuts as possible. He made 8 lamb products and 9 beef products from what he was given. This was Bens first competition and he really enjoyed the experience and now he is looking forward to next years, where hopefully he can beat his 2nd place finish from this year. Everyone in the shop is really proud of Ben. Well done!
